Sewing such as cross-stitching: it’s cheap and easy to start with the simplest kits and patterns. Parents (or tutor!) should do it alongside young students, however.
Building blocks: Stacey is a big fan of building toys. She recommends the building sets with few specialized pieces, to foster creativity. Things that only fit together in a few ways get boring fast and don’t allow innovation.
